October 19, 2018: The dispute process is currently taking longer than usual. It may take us longer than 2-3 business days to begin your dispute and reach out to you for documentation. We will process all disputes in the order they were received. Please do not send documentation in a response to the courtesy notification email you received letting you know your review was disputed. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience during this time!
Below are a few frequently asked questions about WeddingWire's review dispute process.
Why was my review disputed?
How do you verify reviews?
To verify reviews, we ask that a reviewer send us either a binding contract with both parties signatures OR a proof of payment. These are the only documents we can accept as adequate proof to verify a review.
Does WeddingWire just remove all negative reviews?
Do you only verify negative reviews?
Do you verify content of the reviews?
I wrote this review many years ago, why is the vendor disputing my review now?
Sometimes a vendor is unaware they have a presence on WeddingWire, and therefore disputes negative or unwanted reviews when they locate their account. This is because reviewers are allowed to create "shell' accounts for vendors, if they are not already listed as a business on our site, in order to write a review about their vendor. In this situation, the vendor does not locate their account until after the account has been created. Therefore, we allow vendors to dispute any reviews on their Storefront, regardless of when the review was posted.
How long do I have to send in the appropriate documentation?
There is no rush! We give individuals a total of 60 days from the date we originally reached out to send in documentation to verify their review.
Why does it take two weeks for my review to be reinstated?
Per our review dispute process, after we receive the appropriate documentation from a reviewer that verifies they were a legitimate customer of a vendors, we notify the vendor that the review they disputed is going to be reinstated in two weeks time. We give vendors this two week span to prepare a response to the review if they would like, or to try to resolve any issues a client might have.
Can I edit my review?
Of course! You are able to edit your review at any time. For steps detailing how to edit your review, please view this support article: How do I edit or change a review?
